The AMZ Scout and Jungle Scout extensions are two leading ways FBA sellers find products to stay ahead of the competition. With 2 million FBA sellers on Amazon, it’s not enough to sell products you enjoy.
Sellers need something extra to help them compete. It’s why FBA platforms have grown so large. FBA platforms let sellers identify not only product opportunities, but product trends as well.
But not every extension offers the same product insights. Determining the right extension for your store can mean the difference between making sales and losing money. So today, we’re helping you choose between AMZ Scout and Jungle Scout.
Let’s get started.
AMZ Scout
AMZ Scout is the underdog of Amazon extensions. The main program includes less-than-conventional features that help it stand out from the pack, and the extension follows suit. Many of AMZ Scout’s unconventional tools work in tandem with the extension.
But let’s start with the extension’s basics. Visiting an Amazon page and clicking the extension button reveals an overlay page listing 18 product metrics. You have access to the number of reviews, number of sellers, product rankings, projected revenue, and more.
Digging deeper into each metric reveals what sets AMZ Scout apart from other extensions. A product filter allows sorting by any of the 18 metrics, the profit calculator helps identify worthwhile ventures, the keyword tracker gives insight into underutilized niches, and the favorites list lets you track products over time.
Though the real standouts are the Alibaba button and the integrated listing quality score (LQS). The Alibaba button lets you quickly find Alibaba sellers with similar products, while the LQS borrows a 1 – 5 product ranking from the web app.
And of course, any products found with the extension can easily get entered into the app for a more detailed breakdown of those products’ potential in your store.
Jungle Scout
Jungle Scout keeps things fundamental, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. If you’re looking for something simple and stable with an excellent workflow, Jungle Scout is the perfect choice. The extension’s designers use their years of experience to keep things simple yet rewarding.
At its core, Jungle Scout offers many of the same features as AMZ Scout. The basics are all represented: revenue, reviews, rank, sales, category, price, etc. All the metrics from the web app are available in the extension.
Looking further into the extension you’ll see more similarities to AMZ Scout. For instance, there’s a very similar filter that allows you to sort by metric. There’s also a similar push to use the extension with the web app. Because the extension uses the same metrics as the web app, they integrate well.
Jungle Scout’s main selling point, besides its design, is its real-time monitoring of country-specific Amazon data. With Jungle Scout you can hone in on which products sell best across which markets. Data is included from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, U.K., Spain, India, France, Italy, and Germany.
So when it comes time to choose the best extension for your business, our answer isn’t really an answer at all. The best extension for your company depends on your needs. The only person who can make the decision is you, though we will say that either extension can really help your business compete in the Amazon marketplace.
